2017 Ford Expedition

Experience Expedition Capability

At a glance, Ford Expedition styling conveys the qualities expected in a full-size SUV. Strength. Durability. Safety. It’s a design that also speaks volumes about what you’ll discover inside: seating for up to eight occupants, plus loads of cargo volume in regular and extended-length models. The Ford Expedition is designed to take its place on the road in a most compelling way.

Exterior Styling

Its dynamic front end creates a look that establishes the Expedition as the flagship of Ford SUVs. But styling isn’t all there is. Expedition comes standard with LED fog lamps, running boards, and luggage rack with side rails and adjustable crossbars. Add available enhancements like halogen projector-beam headlamps; power-deployable running boards; side mirrors with heat, signal, memory and security approach features; plus power moonroof.

Extended-Length Model

When transporting cargo takes priority, the full-size SUV to turn to is the extended-length Expedition EL with its best-in-class 130.8 cu. ft.* You’ll find the regular-length Expedition is pretty capable as well with its 108.3 cu. ft. of maximum space behind the front seats (rear seat backs folded).

*Behind 1st-row seats with the 2nd- and 3rd-row seats folded flat. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and weight distribution. Class is Extended Utilities based on Ford segmentation.

6-Speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Tow/Haul Mode

The 6-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission has wide-ratio gearing designed for responsive low-end performance and high-end efficiency. The selectable tow/haul mode improves performance when towing or hauling heavy loads, compensating for grade and load and reduces gear hunting, improving power delivery. The SelectShift feature has two driver-initiated modes: Full Manual mode gives you full control to shift through the gears up and down the gearbox; Progressive Range Select limits the range of gears while in Drive to lock out overdrive for consistent speed over hilly terrain.

Cargo Capacity

Along with exceptional comfort for up to eight passengers, the Ford Expedition provides exceptional cargo-carrying capability when you need it — up to a maximum 108.3 cu. ft. in the regular-length model or a best-in-class maximum 130.8 cu. ft. in the extended-length Expedition EL.* And with 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, you can take whatever you’re carrying just about anywhere. That’s outstanding versatility!

Power Liftgate

The Expedition offers an available power liftgate. A push of the button on your key fob or inside the cabin (on the instrument panel or in the cargo area) conveniently opens or closes it, allowing you to easily load groceries, luggage or anything else. If you need really quick access to the cargo area, you can manually open just the liftgate glass.

9,200 Lbs. Maximum Towing

If you need to tow a large boat or camper-trailer, the standard 3.5L EcoBoost® engine delivers 365 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the Expedition a maximum 9,200-lb. towing capacity when equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. Expedition features standard Trailer Sway Control working in conjunction with AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™). When trailer sway is detected, the system takes measures, such as applying precise vehicle braking or reduced engine torque, to help bring both vehicle and trailer under control.39

BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert

Expedition offers the available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert.10 BLIS® uses sensors in the rear quarter panels to alert you to a vehicle in a blind spot with a warning light in the appropriate sideview mirror. Cross-Traffic Alert can signal you when a vehicle is crossing behind from up to 15 yards away while you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway.
