Safety Features

Focus has a standard rear view camera plus seven airbags to help protect you and your passengers on the road. Other features include dual-stage front airbags, front-seat side airbags, side-curtain airbags and driver knee airbag.* Plus, all Ford vehicles use boron steel in their door intrusion beams, which helps protect occupants in side-impact collisions.

Driving Dynamics

To help the driver and vehicle gracefully negotiate curves, standard Torque Vectoring Control  was designed to help the front wheels grip and steer better while cornering or driving in slippery conditions. There’s also the available PowerShift automatic transmission designed to combine enhanced fuel efficiency and fun-to-drive performance with operational convenience. Other performance features on the Focus are electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), Active Grille Shutters* and the new six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission.

Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS)

EPAS automatically adjusts to deliver precise responses at high speed and optimal maneuverability at lower speeds. Pull-drift compensation continually measures driver steering input, adapts to changing road conditions and helps adjust for slight directional shifts, like uneven road surfaces or crosswinds. All of this comes together to deliver smooth responsiveness and excellent control. The ST model is additionally enhanced with variable EPAS, providing the performance customer with even more precise steering, aggressive torque steer tuning and the ability to accelerate while maintaining grip – even on uneven road surfaces.

SmartGauge® with EcoGuide

SmartGauge with EcoGuide offers a multitude of customizable LCD displays that help you understand how changing your driving habits can have a direct effect on maximizing vehicle efficiency. Content such as the Energy History, Energy Coach and Butterfly screens work together to help you monitor and improve your driving performance and electric range over time.

Available Navigation System with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link®

Includes a five-year prepaid SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link® trial subscription. Global Positioning System (GPS) technology is combined with 3-D mapping and provides voice-guided turn-by-turn directions. With SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, you’ll get detailed traffic information, plus current and forecasted weather, gas station locations and prices, sports scores and schedules, and movie theater locations with show listings and times.
