Ford has engineered the 2017 Ford Super Duty to be the toughest, hardest working, most capable heavy-duty pickup we’ve ever built. We began by slashing weight with an all-new high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy body. We then reinvested some of that weight savings where it counts the most in a work truck — stronger axles, beefier steering and chassis components, and an all-new fully boxed frame built of over 95 percent high-strength steel. The result is a pickup that’s stronger than ever before, yet up to 350 pounds lighter, delivering class-leading* payload and towing capability.

Fully Boxed High-Strength Steel Frame

The all-new fully boxed frame is built of over 95 percent high-strength steel with up to ten crossmembers. It’s 24 times stiffer than the previous frame. The frame is designed to minimize flexing and twisting while maximizing strength and torsional rigidity — and helps Super Duty achieve the highest payload and tow ratings in its class.*

Stronger Axles

Like the all-new fully boxed high-strength steel frame, the axles are stronger than before. That means your Super Duty® can bear more weight and get more done, whether you’re operating an upfit like a snowplow, or hauling big payloads that concentrate more weight on the rear axles. The axles are also designed to handle the 925 lbs. ft. of torque of the available 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel. More than ever, our Super Duty is up to the task of taking on the toughest jobs in the most demanding industries.

New Ford TorqShift® G SelectShift® 6-Speed Automatic

Super Duty® F-250 with 6.2L gas V8 boasting best-in-class torque* is teamed with the new Ford TorqShift G SelectShift 6-speed automatic. Experience higher torque at lower rpm with faster power delivery, quicker and more seamless shifting up and down the gearbox, plus higher fuel economy. Also higher is the fluid change interval at 150,000 miles. Designed into the transmission are SelectShift and Tow/Haul features. SelectShift® has Progressive Range Select, limiting the range of gears to lock out overdrive, plus Full Manual control. Tow/Haul mode selects the gear that minimizes gear hunting on uphills. On a downhill, it keeps the vehicle from upshifting and gaining speed, reducing reliance on brake pressure.

Lane Departure Warning; Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Warning/Brake Support

Super Duty® now offers two reassuring technologies: (1) Available Lane Departure Warning vibrates the steering wheel when you drift too close to a lane marker.* (2) Available Adaptive Cruise Control slows you down as traffic ahead slows, then resumes the preset speed when traffic picks back up. The Collision Warning/Brake Support feature precharges the brakes for full responsiveness if you don’t react in time. It’s integrated into the trailer brake controller for added security when you’re towing a heavy load.

*Requires available Adaptive Steering System.

Class-Exclusive BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow

Available BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow is now offered on the new Super Duty® and is a class-exclusive* feature. BLIS® signals you in the outside mirror when a vehicle is detected in a blind spot — and provides coverage for the truck you’re driving as well as the trailer you’re towing. The cross-traffic alert feature can detect a vehicle passing behind when you’re slowly backing out of a driveway or parking place.

New Cameras

New optional cameras,* available on all trim levels, enhance visibility for on-site tasks, including the often tough job of backing up a trailer. (1) Available tailgate camera. (2) Available high-definition 180/360-degree cameras enable you to see all sides of the truck. (3) Available class-exclusive** Trailer Reverse Guidance displays visual guides along both sides for an enhanced view of where the trailer is going. (4) Available customer-placed rear trailer camera provides a view that wouldn’t otherwise be possible from the driver’s seat. (5) Available center high-mount stop lamp camera enhances the view of the pickup bed, helpful when hooking up to a 5th-wheel or gooseneck hitch. 10

Rear Seat Storage and Flat Load Floor

You’ll appreciate the convenience of Super Duty® interior design when you need to carry cargo and other items inside the cab. Both the SuperCab and Crew Cab models have a class-exclusive* rear flat load floor that helps make it easy to load large cargo. The SuperCab features rear hinged doors that open 170 degrees for easy loading. And the 4-door Crew Cab offers a new available class-exclusive* folding lockable under-seat box (shown) for storing loose items or things you’d want to keep concealed and secure.
